    Der Aufenthalt auf Bequia und im Rainbow Castle war wunderbar. Man hat alles was man braucht und dank der Gastgeber Ina und Conrad immer noch ein bisschen mehr.
    Von allen Orten, die ich in der Region kennenlernen konnte, war Rainbow Castle der perfekteste Ausgangspunkt für ein Eintauchen in die Inselkultur.. unprätentiös, zugewandt, respektvoll sind Attribute die mir dazu einfallen.
    Dort würde ich gerne wieder einkehren!

    My boyfriend and I had an amazing stay at the Rainbow Castle. The hosts, Ina and Conrad, were super kind and helpful. We had originally planned to stay in Apt.1 downstairs, but due to a mixup on Airbnb’s side, Ina was able to upgrade us to Apt.2 on the first floor. Apt.1 does not have a balcony, but has a lovely and private patio. Apt.2 where we stayed in has a stunning view of Port Elizabeth from the balcony. No A/C but the wind blowing through was perfect, and it contributed to an authentic experience. All necessities are in the unit, including oven, stove, toaster, fans, etc. It is located at the top of Cemetery Hill, and it is a very steep walk from the center of town. You can take a taxi for $20 EC, or, like us, walk most of the time. It is a great workout! We would certainly return to this place if we were to stay on Bequia again, it was great value for the price. Thank you to Ina and Conrad for everything!

    Si vous voulez connaître l’ambiance et l’authenticité des Caraïbes vous êtes a la bonne adresse! Ina et Conrad sont adorables et ont de tres bon conseils a donner. Ils aiment leur île et c’est contagieux. C’est une maison perchée sur la hauteur de Bequia avec une vue incroyable. Tres vite on se sent comme à la maison.
    Ina et Conrad ne changez pas, vous êtes parfaits! A l’année prochaine😉

    WOW….. The best hosts are those with pride in their property, community and territory. Conrad and Ina get triple AAA rating on this. Whether small details about their property or concern that we have the best visit possible they came through with flying colours. They are at the top of my list on my next visit. Cant wait!

    Rainbow’s place was a perfect location for our first trip to Bequia. It had everything we needed and was spacious and well laid out. We loved the view and the quiet, out of the way location. Conrad and Ina communicated well throughout and were lovely hosts.

    Im Rainbow Castle wurden wir sehr herzlich empfangen. Von der Wohnung aus hat man einen traumhaften Blick auf die Bucht und von der Terrasse aus kann man den Sonnenuntergang beobachten. Auch die Einrichtung hat uns gut gefallen – viel Holz und schön bunt.

    Logement a vivement recommander. Les hôtes Ina et Conrad sont vraiment super sympathiques. On s’est très vite senti en famille, comme a la maison. Wifi fonctionne très bien. Magnifique maison construite par Conrad avec beaucoup de gout et d’amour. Très serviables et nous ont fait connaitre des spécialités de l’iles. La vue est simplement incroyable et impressionnante. Encore nous recommandons cette adresse et nous y retournerons bientôt.

    Wir haben uns bei Ina und Conrad sehr wohl gefühlt. Die beiden sind außergewöhnlich nett und hilfsbereit. Das Gästehaus ist äußerst liebevoll gestaltet. Aufgrund der vielen Fenster (mit Moskitonetzen!) ist das Apartment „airy“ und angenehm kühl. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

    Ina est une hôtesse très accueillante et attentionnée. Le logement se situe sur les hauteurs surplombant la baie offrant une très belle vue sur Port Elizabeth. Le logement est propre, fonctionnel et bien situé pour découvrir l’île. Ina a été de très bon conseil pour nous indiquer les meilleurs endroits à découvrir, contact taxi etc…

    Me and my boyfriend had a lovely stay at the Rainbow house. Both Ina and Conrad were very friendly and Ina showed us around and leaded us to the beaches. The place was very peaceful with a great view! The house is a bit further from the Port, so we often took a taxi up the hill. We enjoyed it very much and adapted our booking to stay a day longer.     Rainbow’s place is a lovely, well equipped flat with an amazing view of the whole village. The communication was smooth and efficient. The hosts were very helpful, made sure that my stay was comfortable and answered all my questions. The walk uphill is a bit steep as described.

    Rainbow guesthouse was all it said it would be and more. The views were magical, absolutely gorgeous and we felt like we were sitting on top of the world. Conrad was an excellent host that went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and accommodate our needs. Bequia is a special place with beautiful, friendly people. We will be back next year and wish it was sooner!

    So sorry for the barking dogs. All the dogs in the neighborhood had puppies in December. So it was much louder than usually. We talked to the neighbors about the noise and hopfully that will make a change. But barking dogs, fighting cats and crowing roosters are just part of Caribbean village life.
    The wifi in Bequia is not always reliable because of frequent power cuts. It can take hours until the wifi comes back and this happened several times when Siri was there. The wifi connection is okay, there is a wifi repeater in the living/kitchen area to amplify the signal.

    Clean and well equipped flat. All windows have mosquito nets, so you can let the breeze in but not the bugs. Very nice view from the patio! Neighbours will greet you on your way to/from the village, and the area feels safe for walking also after dark. There is a lot of barking from the neighbourhood dogs in the evening/night, so bring earplugs for a good night’s sleep. The wifi signal is weak and does not really reach the bedroom or patio. Ina and Conrad are very nice hosts, reply quickly to messages and give you a warm welcome with all the information you need for your stay.

    Our stay at Rainbow Castle was absolutely amazing. The apartment is cozy and the perfect place to stay if you are staying at Bequia. The apartment is just like the pictures, it is at the top of the hill, has mosquito nets to sleep, there is no AC but there are 2 fans provided and since the apartment is at the top of the hill, a good amount of breeze gets in (we didn’t feel the need for AC). Taxis usually charge 15ECD to get there from the port, and you just need to tell them that you are going to Rainbow Castle. Ina was super nice and made sure to let us know that she was available for anything we needed. Over all, will recommend if you are visiting Bequia 🙂

    The house is everything they say it is with fabulous views. If you’re not really fit like we aren’t, a local taxi will take you up and down cheaply. Lovely hosts.

    Ina and Conrad are so lovely people, really nice to talk with and they make you feel at home instantly. They gave me very good advice on what to do on the Island and helped me a lot. The room was super clean, really spotless and way bigger then I expected. The location is very close to Port Elizabeth, just a short walk down the steep hill. All in all I really enjoyed my stay and could really recommend Ina and Conrad!

    We had a wonderful stay in Ina’s and Conrad’s cottage house. They are very welcoming, helped us with every issue and gave us useful recomendations.
    The house is beautiful, colorful, clean, warm and with it’s simple interior very cozy. We stayed in the lower appartment and had our own veranda with a beautiful view towards the sea.
    Definitely a beautiful place with nice people!

    Conrad and Ina do a really professional and brilliant guest service! We absolutely enjoyed our stay there and recommend this place! They have a really well equipped kitchen – one of us is chef and was SO happy! The apartment has big rooms, the facility was chosen with love for detail and the view over the harbour is fantastic. Even if the house is on top of a hill, you can easy walk to several beaches, restaurants, stores, etc. Nice place!

    We spent our mandatory quarantine time in the Rainbow Castle guesthouse. Our stay was perfect! Conrad organised the transport from the airport to the guesthouse. Secondly he did the shopping for us, we had food, water and beer, i.e. we certainly did not suffer düring the quarantine. And most importantly, the appartment is beautifull, the view to the bay breathtaking. Thank you very much Ina and Conrad, we enjoyed our stay.

    Breathtaking view! I asked the dive shop owner for tips on which restaurant in town has the best view, and then showed him a picture taken from Conrad and Ina’s place. He said: „Oh my, it doesn’t get any better than that!“ Conrad is a living embodiment of loving kindness in a cool, laid-back manner – like a combination of Bob Marley and the Buddha. He not only offered tips, but also treated guests like friends and connected us across different apartments. A truly lovely experience.

    I’ve stayed at Ina’s and Conrad’s for a week in the one bedroom apartment. The apartment is spaciuos and very clean. It is equipped with all you need but the best is the view over Port Elizabeth. It’s breathtaking. The walk up the hill is challenging but I got used to it and it is a good exercise. Conrad is the perfect host. He is very friendly and helpful. He showed me the beautiful island and explained everything. It is the best place to stay in Bequia.

    Ich hatte eine sehr schöne und entspannte Zeit im Haus von Ina & Conrad. Auch jetzt – Wochen später – habe ich noch die Aussicht mit der Bucht und den Segelbooten vor Augen und sehne mich dahin zurück.
    In der Wohnung war alles vorhanden, was ich brauchte. Das Zentrum von Port Elisabeth und die Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind fußläufig in wenigen Minuten erreichbar. Wenn man Glück hat steht Conrad mit dem Auto gerade unten und nimmt die Sachen mit hoch zum Haus.

    Das Rainbow Castle ist- wie der Name schon verrät: von innen und außen bunt, besonders und wunderschön (so wie die Insel Bequia). Es hat einen Ausblick auf die Insel von dem man sich morgens und abends nur sehr schwer lösen kann (sollte man aber, da es auf dieser kleinen Insel unglaublich viel zu entdecken gibt und die Zeit viel zu schnell vergeht).
    Im Apartment 1 im Erdgeschoss wohnend, hatten wir zu zweit mehr als genug Platz. Es ist mit allem, was wir brauchten ausgestattet, mit Herz eingerichtet und sauber. Von der Veranda aus hatten wir den direkten Zugang zum Garten voller Blumen und Kolibris.
    Die Gastgeber Conrad und Ina sind mit Abstand die besten Gastgeber, die wir kennen und haben unseren Urlaub durch Tipps, Geschichten und ihre Gegenwart wirklich besonders gemacht. Hat man jedoch eigene Pläne und wünscht sich Zeit für sich, hat man im Guesthouse ebenso die Möglichkeit abzuschalten und den Urlaub ganz nach den eigenen Wünschen zu gestalten.
    Wir- zwei Freundinnen (um die 30) aus Frankfurt besuchten das Rainbow Castle Ende März für drei wundervolle Wochen, vermissen die Insel bereits und werden im Rainbow Castle immer wieder gern unseren Urlaub verbringen. In diesem Sinne können wir das Guesthouse jedem sehr empfehlen, der es sich so richtig gut gehen lassen möchte und dabei noch Lust auf das wunderschönste Meer, Begegnungen mit offenen und interessanten Menschen, das leckerste Kokosnusswasser, eine faszinierende Kultur und natürlich Pflanzen in allen Farben und Formen hat (der Versuch einer Kurzfassung :D).

    Alles ist weit, hell und luftig, man kann atmen und hat Platz, überall, ob in der Wohnküche oder in den Zimmern. Obwohl es eigentlich nur einen Platz im Rainbow Castle von Conrad und Ina gibt: auf der Veranda, mit dem Blick über die Admiralty Bay. Sitting On The Top Of The Bay! Wenn morgens die Sonne die Wolken von Osten her leicht ocker, dann gelb, schließlich rosa vor unendlichen Blau- und Grünschattierungen färbt, bis sie es über den Hügel schafft und Hamilton Point auf der anderen Seite der Bucht erleuchtet. Dann haben die Yachten schließlich auch Sonne auf ihren Decks. Zeit für einen Sprung ins karibik-(ja wirklich so kitschig!) türkisfarbene Wasser, bevor die Sonne alles einbrennt. Dann werden in der Saison auch schon die Passagiere der unvermeidlichen Kreuzfahrtschiffe vor der Bucht zu ihren Tourenbooten transportiert.
    Man könnte den ganzen Tag hier oben bleiben, um das Theater des karibischen Lebens zu betrachen. Denn hier oben am Hang sorgt der permanente Ostwind dafür, dass die ewigen 28 Grad perfekt ventiliert werden. (Es gibt Ventilatoren auf den Zimmern, aber wer braucht die?)
    Der tägliche Weg hinab ins Dorf ins volle Leben und wieder herauf bereitet mich optimal auf die Besteigung des Vulkans Soufrière in der dritten Woche auf St. Vincent vor. Ohne dieses Training hätte ich es nie von Null auf die 1200 Meter hoch geschafft. Glücklicherweise muss man nach einer solchen Tour auch gar nicht hoch nach Hause laufen, sondern kann ein Taxi für 15 EC$ nehmen. Oder man trifft zufällig Conrad im Ort, der einen mit hoch nimmt. Oder runter, oder auf die Hauptinsel St. Vincent, wo wir die wahrscheinlich beste Tour, die es geben kann, auf der Leeward Seite bekommen haben. Tropische Küstenstraßen entlang an Traumbuchten in wirkliche Dörfer zu Wasserfällen, immer mit Blick auf den Vulkan bis zum Strand am Ende der Welt, von dem aus es hoch zum Soufrière geht. Besonders toll, dass Ina mit dabei war. Mit ihr zusammen – erst Recht in Bequia – bekommt man kluge Einblicke in Geschichte und Gegenwart der Gesellschaft und natürlich auch Tipps für die besten Strände, Cafés und Restaurants. Ich würde die „Walfänger“-Seite, die Southside, und Tokos Place empfehlen. Rum und Rum Punch gibt es da – und überall – auch, ganz ohne das Barcardi-Reklame-Feeling. Hier habe ich am besten gegessen. Real Caribbean!
    Sitting On The Top Of The Bay im Rainbow Castle lässt einen einen Zipfel karibischer Realität kennenlernen. Morgens laufen alle vorbei, die die erste Fähre nach St. Vincent bekommen müssen, später die Mütter mit ihren Schulkindern und natürlich auf dem Weg zur Arbeit und ins Dorf die Nachbarn. Hier oben hat man auch den besten Insel-Soundtrack: Die Klänge von diversen Radiostationen und Soundsystem wehen den Berg hoch, mit Reggae, Soca und immer wieder Country, denn das war bis in die 70er Jahre der lokale Sound! Aber den besten Sound hat die Natur designt: Hähne, Hühner, Ziegen, Schafe, Hunde und Katzen, die alle mit einander kommunizieren.
    Für alle, die bis hierhin durchgehalten haben: Muss ich noch erwähnen, dass alles sauber ist, alles da ist, was man zum Leben, Essen und Kochen braucht?
    Zum Schluss noch: der Sonnenuntergang. Nein, ganz falsch, die Sonnenuntergänge. Jeden Tag jede Minute anders, von jedem Ort der Insel, ob vom Strand oder vom Belmont Walk. Am besten natürlich vom Rainbow Castle on the top of the bay aus! Ich habe x-Mal versucht, ihren Zauber einzufangen. Man muss sie selbst erlebt haben. Also hinfliegen!

    Vor unserer dritten Reise in die Karibik haben wir uns auf die kleine Insel Bequia besonders gefreut, da sie sowohl als eine malerische Insel in den Grenadinen als auch als eine vom Massentourismus noch verschonte Insel gilt. Und … wir haben uns nicht getäuscht! Dieses Gefühl der Authentizität und ursprünglichen Schönheit wurde durch unseren Aufenthalt in Conrad‘s Rainbow Castle noch bestärkt. Conrad ist ein herzlicher Gastgeber, der für alle, die Interesse an der Insel und dem Leben der einheimischen Bevölkerung haben, bereitsteht. Seine Tür ist immer offen und er akzeptiert auch die neugierigsten und kleinsten Gäste 😀 so oft wie sie mögen.
    Von der Unterkunft (besonders Apt. 2 und Conrad‘s Balkon :D) hat man einen wunderschönen Blick auf Admiralty Bay und kann dem relaxten karibischen Leben stundenlang zugucken. Schon am ersten Tag des Aufenthaltes haben uns viele Nachbarn auf unserem Weg nach Port Elizabeth gegrüßt – die Menschen auf Bequia sind besonders nett und es lohnt sich sehr, mit ihnen in Kontakt zu treten. Im Prinzip ist fast alles auf der Insel fußläufig erreichbar, aber man kann auch gut die sehr preiswerten Dollar-Buses benutzen, in welchen die Fahrt ganz sicher nicht langweilig wird und man stattdessen noch einen weiteren Teil der Kultur aufnehmen kann.
    Conrad hat uns auf zwei Touren Bequia und das Leben dort aus Perspektiven gezeigt und erklärt, die „normalen“ Touristen wohl entgangen wären. Wir haben es sehr genossen! Zusätzlich hat sich nach unserer Abreise (!) noch die Gelegenheit ergeben, Conrad auf St. Vincent zu treffen. Er ist extra für uns mit der Fähre dorthin gefahren und hat sich einen ganzen Tag Zeit genommen, um uns auf einer weiteren Tour auch dort versteckte Ecken und lokale Einblicke zu zeigen (besonders toll war die kleine Wanderung am langen schwarzen Strand). Von unseren sechs Tagen auf der Hauptinsel St. Vincent war dieser der schönste.
    Die Kommunikation mit Ina vor, während und nach dem Aufenthalt war jederzeit sehr angenehm. Wir bedauern sehr, sie nicht haben persönlich kennenlernen zu können.
    Wer einen 5-Star Resort direkt am Strand und mit Touristen vollgepackte Hotels sucht, sollte auf jeden Fall woanders und vermutlich auch auf einer anderen karibischen Insel bleiben. Wer Authentizität genießt und Insider‘s View kennenlernen will, wird bei Conrad bestens aufgehoben sein!
    …. no view without hill, no Caribbean village without dogs and … no Bequia without Conrad!!!

    Unsere Familie (zwei Erwachsene und zwei Kinder) verbrachten acht Nächte im Rainbow Castle. Wir fühlten uns von der ersten Minute an sehr wohl und waren dankbar für die freundliche und hilfsbereite Aufnahme von Conrad und Ina. Das Apartment ist sehr sauber und gut ausgesattet. Wir hatten alles, was wir für einen perfekten Karibikurlaub brauchten. Und wenn etwas fehlte, wurde es sofort gebracht. Der lokale Touch ist wundervoll: Man hört nachts die tropischen Geräusche und morgens kräht der Hahn. Der Ausbick von der Terasse ist gigantisch, und wir hatten sogar das Glück, den Regenbogen zu sehen, der sich über die ganze Buch spannt. Wir freuen uns schon auf ein nächstes Mal. Elke und Familie.

    We stayed in the Rainbow Castle for 2 days and had a wonderful time. The house is up the hill but it’s totally worth the trip up there. The view is amazing, we had the most wonderful sunsets over Port Elizabeth. Conrad was very helpful and welcoming.
    We had a full apartment with a kitchen so you can cook which is nice since Bequia’s restaurants are not that cheap. I highly recommend 🙂

    Simply amazing stay !!
    We stayed at Bequia as part of our trip to the Caribbean. Rainbow Castle was definitely the best of all. To start with the location is very convenient, if you plan to travel by ferry. Every taxi driver knows Conrad and the apartments 🙂 making it super convenient to travel. Conrad was superb. Very helpful and understanding. Offered us a ride down to the markets, when we came and made sure our stay is comfortable. The apartment is very clean and spacious. Nice location and lovely view of the port 🙂 Communication with Ina and Conrad was smooth, no issues at all. I would highly recommend anyone considering a trip to Bequia to stay at the apartment.

    Thanks Ina and Conrad for your hospitality. We spent 5 days with my three teenagers at the Rainbow Castle and had a great stay! The accomodations are excellent for a pleasant holiday and what can I say about Bequia and it´s people … it´s better than being at home. Hope to see you soon. Regards from Argentina !!!
    I hope I can return, and there is no doubt that I would chose Rainbow Castle again 🙂

    WOW can not say enough about the Rainbow Castle Guest House in Bequia. From the spectacular view to our amazing host Conrad. We wanted for nothing very comfortable bed, beautiful breeze, hot water, well stocked kitchen and very inviting sitting area. Ah the view, had our breakfast every morning on the patio over looking the beautiful harbour (Million Dollar View).
    Vielen Dank Ina and Conrad, we will be back.

    What a view!
    Conrad warmly greeted us when we arrived at his „castle“ perched high up on the hillside above the town of Port Elizabeth.The view is amazing from this simple, but clean vacation rental. We had the two bedroom/two bath apartment on the second floor of Conrad’s home. The apartment is furnished with the basic necessities for cooking, with a full size refrigerator/freezer for those necessary ice cubes for afternoon drinks on the deck. The WiFi is excellent.
    The climb home from town takes your breath away, but a taxi ride up the hill is available at any time of the day or night. Needless to say, it’s an easy, downhill walk to town! As with most Caribbean locations, the neighborhood is alive with roosters that crow and dogs that bark at night.
    We would not hesitate to return to Rainbow Castle for our next Bequia journey. If you’re looking for beachfront luxury, this is not your place. If you are looking for the opportunity to stay with a host with local knowledge, an amazing view when not exploring the island and you are content with simple lodgings, this is the place for your stay.

    Wir (2 Personen) verbrachten 3 Wochen in der Erdgeschoss-Wohnung des Rainbow Castle. Die Wohnung ist sehr großzügig gestaltet, zweckmäßig eingerichtet und mit allem ausgestattet, was man für einen Selbstversorger-Wohlfühl-Urlaub benötigt. Der Ausblick von der Terrasse auf Port Elizabeth und die Admirality Bay ist schlichtweg atemberaubend!!
    Conrad „Rady“ unser Vermieter, stand nicht nur jederzeit hilfsbereit mit Rat und Tat zur Verfügung, sondern hat mit uns darüber hinaus auf Bequia und auf St. Vincent auch noch tolle Touren unternommen und uns einige Hot Spots abseits der touristischen Pfade gezeigt.
    Fazit: Das RAINBOW Castle mit Conrad (Ina war zu der Zeit leider nicht da) war für uns ein Volltreffer und die Grundlage für einen Traumurlaub auf Bequia! Wir kommen wieder!

    Das perfekte Urlaubsdomizil auf Bequia! Wir verbrachten zwei wundervolle Wochen im Rainbow Castle. Die Ferienwohnung war zweckmäßig eingerichtet und entsprach der Beschreibung im Internet. Der Ausblick von der Wohnung war einfach grandios. Unseren besonderen Dank möchten wir Ina und Conrad sagen, die uns aus einer unangenehmen Situation halfen. Conrad brachte uns auf seine Art das Karibische Feeling näher. Er zeigte uns die Insel und gab uns Tipps für Ausflüge. Erwähnenswert sind die fast menschenleeren Strände auf dieser Trauminsel.

    Bequia ist eine kleine typische Karibikinsel. Wer im Rainbow Castle wohnt, fühlt sich nach kurzer Zeit heimisch. Morgens genießt man sein Frühstück mit dem Hauskolibri und den süßen Geckos. Abends funkeln die Sterne über der Bucht und ein Glühwürmchenkonzert startet mit Sonnenuntergang. Die Aussicht ist toll und nie langweilig. Conrad Alexander kennt alles auf der Insel, gibt gute Tipps und ist sehr hilfsbereit. Die Apartments sind mit allem, was man braucht, gut ausgestattet. Wir haben dort auch ganz wunderbar geschlafen. Vielen Dank an Conrad und Ina. Wir wünschen Euch noch viele liebe Gäste.

    Tres belle situation de l’appartement avec une vue magnifique sur Port Elisabeth et il est très facile de rejoindre les plages et les restaurants de l’île, si l’on fait l’effort de marcher un peu. Dans le cas contraire, vous avez à disposition des taxis bons marchés.
    L’accueil d’Ina et Conrad est très sympathique et chaleureux et leurs conseils sont très précieux pour visiter l’île.
    Je recommande cet établissement en couple ou en famille pour son très bon rapport qualité/prix.

    Wir (Doris, Magdalene und Erik) verlebten wundervolle Tage auf sicher einer der schönsten Inseln der Karibik. Das höhergelegene Quartier bot einen grossartien Blick auf die Admirality-Bay und auf Port Elizabeth, besonders vom grossen Balkon aus. Die Wohnung war groß und geräumig, sehr sauber mit guter und kompletter Ausstattung. Ina und Conrad waren liebenswürdige und hilfsbereite Gastgeber, die uns auch in kniffliger Situation zur Seite standen.

Special mention though has to lie with the view and the owner Conrad. The view is posted with this review but Conrad is truly a unique and kind individual who is rare to find nowadays. He will look after you with no other thought than to make your stay a joy.

    My family and I had a wonderful time at Rainbow Castle. It was spacious enough for 5 adults and a toddler to move around comfortably. The kitchen was well equipped though it lacks a microwave. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were big. Everything was clean. The view is spectacular from the balcony. I think that a vehicle is necessary to move around the island. The place is on a hill and the island could be diffcult to navigate unless you are really fit and like walking up fairly steep hills. We rented a vehicle St Vincent and brought it over on the ferry. This saved us a lot of hassle.

    We have spent 5 wonderful days at Rainbow Castle. Conrad has built a jewel on top of the hill! The two apartments are spaceous, colorful, clean and well equipped and the view is absolutely gorgeous!! We were in the lower apartment and enjoyed the porch and garden so much when drinking our coffee in the morning and a beer and some rum in the evening always with this great view over the bay and town. We loved the short hike up the hill any time of the day and night. If you like to walk/hike, this is actually the best way to discover this very laid back island. You get in contact with so many extremely friendly locals (and everyone knows Conrad :-). We had a great stay and wished we could have stayed longer. Thank you Conrad! You definitely live in paradise!

    Hatte mich ins Rainbow Castle verliebt und schon eine Anzahlung geleistet, als ich festgestellt habe, dass es gar keine Fährverbindung von Grenada, wo mein Flug ankommt, nach St. Vincent/Bequia gibt. Ina und Conrad waren dann so kulant und haben meine Stornierung akzeptiert und mir mein Geld anstandslos zurück überwiesen. Danke!

    Wir hatten wunderschön entspannte zwei Märzwochen im Rainbow Castle. Die Aussicht über Port Elizabeth und die Admirality Bay war zu jeder Tages- und Nachtzeit einfach atemberaubend, inklusive Regenbögen quer über die ganze Bucht fast jeden Morgen. Das Appartement ist groß, sehr liebevoll eingerichtet und mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht. Ein perfekter Platz zum Tee trinken (Kaffee geht auch) und von oben auf die Welt schauen. Besonders schön: Conrad und Ina nach allem fragen, was man über Bequia wissen möchte – und sich von ihnen vielleicht sogar die Insel zeigen lassen. Danke, ihr beiden! Es war herrlich bei euch!

    Bequia und die Grenadinen waren fantastisch, und ich bin sicher, dass ich bald die Inseln nochmals besuchen werde. Das Rainbow Castle Guesthouse war für mich super, mit einem super Ausblick, privat und sicher, gute Nachbarschaft, sauber, einfach und sehr hübsch mit karibischen Farben eingerichtet. Sogar einen kleinen „Kölner Dom“ am Kühlschrank klebend. Ina war sehr zuverlässig bei der Buchung und Conrad war super, sehr hilfsbereit und hat alles gut beschrieben. Die Unterkunft liegt auf einem Berg. Bergrunter geht zu Fuß gut, doch nach dem Einkaufen und in der Nacht war ein Taxi sinnvoll (ca. 5 USD) Die Strände in der Umgebung sind ein Traum. Die Menschen in Bequia sehr entspannt und freundlich mit eigenem Charme. Etwas hat mir eine gute Reggae-Bar gefehlt. Die Segeltour durch die Grenadinen war sehr lohnend.     Wer Karibik mal anders als 5 Sterne-Hochglanz erleben will, muss nach Bequia und das Guesthouse von Ina & Conrad erleben. Wir waren in der Zeit vom 04. – 21.01.2015 dort und haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt, denn Conrad ist super und als Vermieter unschlagbar. Er hat für uns gekocht, suuuuper lecker, er ist mit uns über die Insel gefahren und gelaufen, hat uns Freunden vorgestellt und die Einkaufsmöglichkeiten gezeigt. Die Wohnung war für zwei zwar zu groß, aber der Blick vom Balkon jeden Tag auf’s Neue richtig, richtig schön. Wir haben viele Fotos vom Balkon zur Bucht geschossen, weil es einfach je nach Tages-/Nachtzeit immer wieder anders scheint. Und richtig toll sind die „Rainbow Bilder“, passend zum Haus. Uns hat es dort an nichts gefehlt, wir können jedem, der mal so richtig runterkommen will, empfehlen dort Urlaub zu machen. Die Naturstrände so geil, die Menschen dort freundlich und hilfsbereit, einfach geil, gerne wieder. :-))) jetzt wo ich diese Eintrag schreibe, läuft im Radio Steeldrum-Musik… da könnt ich gleich wieder in den Flieger steigen.

I’d definitely recommend the Rainbow Castle Guesthouse to all those travellers like us who are looking to have a truly local experience of the Caribbean and avoid any expensive hotels that are only tailored for mass tourism.

    We had a wonderful stay in the 2 bedroom apartment for our holiday. The apartment had a great verandah with a view of the harbor and the fireworks on New Year’s Eve. It was a short walk down the hill to the harbor and to the beach. The apartment was clean and stocked with necessities in the kitchen to allow us to cook as much as we wanted. Conrad is a gracious host and ensured our needs were met. I would highly recommend Rainbow Castle. I can’t wait until we can return again.

    Wir waren Ende Februar für 2 Tage im Guesthouse und müssen sagen, dass diese Unterkunft der absolute Traum ist. Wir waren im Apartment 1 (das untere) und waren von dem Zimmer, ach was, der Wohnung sehr überzeugt.

    Auch die Gastfreundschaft von Conrad muss man einfach erleben. Am Anreisetag gab es erst mal frische Bananen von der Staude inkl. Privatwohnungsbesichtigung 🙂 Nicht zu vergessen ist die Abschiedstour über die ganze Insel an unserem Abreisetag, inkl. Freunde treffen und danach noch von Conrad bekocht zu werden. Der Salat mit Nudeln und diversen Gemüsen war ein Hochgenuss! Auch als wir kurzfristig noch mal nach Bequia zurückkommen wollten, hat er für eine Unterkunft für uns gesorgt. Leider hat sich unsere Planung überschlagen, und wir konnten das Zimmer dann nicht mehr nehmen.

    Alles in allem war es die BESTE Unterkunft, in der wir nächtigen durften. Danke Conrad und Ina!

    We had a lovely stay in the Rainbow Guesthouse. We stayed in the 1 bedroom flat. It is lovely, nicely-decorated and it feels very spacious too. We particularly loved the colours of the rooms.
    This is a great way to stay in Bequia as you can cook your own food and feel like a ‘local’. The surroundings are beautiful too; it is situated on the hill that looks down on the Admiralty Bay. The views from the guesthouse are amazing. However, what really made a difference to our stay has been the owner, Conrad. He is known in town as the ‘rasta man’ and everybody knows him. He is such a lovely and welcoming person. He showed us around parts of the island that we didn’t manage to explore ourselves as well as cooked for us some delicious local food.
    During our stay we managed to get to know the island and understand how local people live. Conrad is a very special person and your stay will surely be unique and something you will not be able to get by staying in the other/usual hotels (as most tourists who get to the island do).
    We strongly recommend the Rainbow Guesthouse and we will definitely come back again. In particular, a big Thank You goes to Conrad for making our stay in Bequia so special.

    We had a very nice stay at Rainbow Castle. Conrad is charming, helpful, and kind. We’d probably opt to pay for the two bedroom upstairs next time, as the mango tree in front of the one-bedroom blocks a lot of the lovely view. We are in our 70’s and didn’t walk up often, but the walk to town was easy enough, if a bit steep.
    The three recommendations I’d make: 1. Do the turtle sanctuary visit and the Firefly Plantation one day. Take the tour at the plantation before you eat because the guide will offer everything they grow that is ripe during the tour. 2. For sure eat at Fernando’s Hideaway. 3. If you enjoy cooking, bring a sharp knife. The kitchen and utensils at R. C. are fine, but none of the knives are sharp.
    We very much recommend R. Castle and thank Conrad for his fine, relaxed hospitality.

    Nobody will have to bring his or her own sharp knife! We bought sharp ones so that you can fully enjoy cooking. And the mango tree has been cut down so the harbour-view is no longer blocked.

Neben der gemütlichen Unterkunft und der netten Betreuung durch Ina und Conrad bleibt uns in besonderer Erinnerung die gemeinsame Bootsfahrt mit Conrad und Michael: einmaliges Schnorcheln, erfolgreiche Thunfischjagd und ein wahrhafter Regenbogen über Bequia. Ein tolles Erlebnis, das sein Finale im frisch zubereiteten Thunfischsteak mit leckerem Salat fand. Danke an Ina und Conrad

    It was my 5th time on Bequia, so I felt like coming home. My girl-friend was the first time there and we both really enjoyed our time there. Conrad gave us the upper apartment (we booked the smaller one) and we had everything we needed. Some days, we even didn’t want to leave our home – it was really fantastic. Ok, I had no wifi – after all, I better stayed without. Conrad drove us „around“ the island and prepared marvelous lobster for us.

    Mein zehntaegiger Aufenthalt im Rainbow Castle war ein tolles Erlebnis. Eigentlich sollte man nicht so viel ueber das Guesthouse und Bequia schreiben. Fuer mich ist es eine Art unentdecktes Paradies/Geheimtipp, abseits vom Massentourismus. Hier gibt es noch das wirklich karibische Leben. Mein Apartment (das untere) war mit wirklich allem ausgestattet, was gebraucht wird. Die Sauberkeit lag weit ueber dem ueblichen Standard. Zur Lage und den Aussichten auf den Hafen wurde ja schon genuegend gesagt. Conrad ist ein super Gastgeber, seine Hilfsbereitschaft und Freundlichkeit…..!!!

    Bequia ist mehr als eine Reise wert, das ist unser Fazit nach einem ersten Urlaub in Port Elizabeth. Es gab viel zu entdecken: das alltägliche Inselleben, eine wunderbare Landschaft mit üppiger Vegegation, freundliche Menschen und herrliche Strände. Das Guesthouse von Ina und Conrad hoch(!) über der Bucht bietet einen herrlichen Ausblick und alles, was zum Aus- und Entspannen beiträgt.     Schon 2010 waren wir in Conrad und Inas Rainbow Castle und sind zwei Jahre mit schlechtem Gewissen herumgelaufen, denn bei so einer netten Gastfreundschaft nichts ins Gästebuch zu schreiben, ist schon unhöflich.
    Also Conrad und Ina: Es war wunderschön bei euch. Conrad ist ein großartiger Gastgeber, hat uns die Insel gezeigt und uns immer, wenn wir es wollten, mit seinem Wagen zum Strand nach Lower Bay gebracht. Wir hatten im Erdgeschoss gebucht, und weil gerade frei war, haben wir oben in der größeren Wohnung mit Balkon wohnen dürfen.
    Im Gästebuch las ich, dass Conrad ein Walfängerboot gekauft und renoviert hat. Da muss ich ja wirklich noch einmal kommen – Conrad, segeln wir zusammen? Gute Idee mit den Bootsausflüge.

    Wir haben zwei traumhafte Wochen bei Conrad und Ina verbracht. Die Einträge in diesem Gästebuch spiegeln die vielen positiven Aspekte des Lebens auf Bequia und in den Appartments wider. Wir kamen aus Martinique, wo es schwül und zu heiss war, trotz Klimaanlage. Hier in Conrads Haus schläft man in der Nacht bei offenen Fenstern mit Moskito-Netzen. Und die Brise kühlt die Zimmer von selbst ab.
    Unvergesslich sind die exotischen Früchte, die man verhältnissmässig preisgünstig unten im Dorf von Händlern kaufen kann. Solche Qualität gibt es in Europa nicht. Einfach köstlich. Um beim Kulinarischen zu bleiben: fast jeden Tag verkaufen die Fischer frischen Fisch.
    Conrad und Ina haben sich lieb um uns gekümmert und uns die Sehenswürdigkeiten auf Bequia gezeigt, auch die Villen, in denen sich Multimillionäre weitab vom Fussvolk wahrscheinlich langweilen.

    J’ai tout de suite été charmée par cette île, si différente de celles que je connaissais, plus sauvage, plus dépaysante, où l’on trouve une vraie vie locale et où tout n’est pas tourné vers le tourisme. Ici, pas de tourisme de masse et l’on peut savourer la douceur de vivre.
    Dès l’arrivée par le ferry, on aperçoit, tout en haut, la belle maison de Conrad et d’Ina, qui domine le village. Et je me suis vraiment plu dans cette maison, aux pièces très vastes, confortables et joliment décorées. Grâce à sa position élevée, on bénéficie toujours d’un petit air frais et l’on ne souffre donc pas de la chaleur. Et la vue sur les montagnes alentour, les maisons du village et la mer est magnifique.
    Ces deux semaines ont été un vrai plaisir. Il faut dire que Conrad et Ina ont beaucoup donné pour les rendre faciles et agréables. Ils nous ont fait connaître les bons endroits, pour faire les courses, prendre le meilleur petit-déjeuner (je garde la nostalgie du fameux gâteau à la banane), dîner de manière succulente. Ils nous ont aussi fait découvrir l’île et la plus belle de ses plages, presque déserte.
    Et je tiens vraiment à les remercier de leur grande présence durant notre séjour.

    Nach 6 Jahren wieder, auf dem für mich schönsten Stück Erde überhaupt. Diesmal hatte ich mich im Frangipani einquartiert.
    Bis ich eines Tages in Lower Bay die Bekanntschaft mit Conrad und seiner „Truppe“ gemacht habe: „Sorry Sir, we want to lunch this boot“. Conrad hatte ein historisch wertvolles Walfänger-Boot erworben und dieses wieder fit gemacht. Und nun war die „WHY ASK“ bereit. Nach ein paar Bier bei Uncle Boy habe ich dann mit Conrad den Umzug ins Rainbow Castle besprochen, und wir sind anschließend alle gemeinsam zum Hafen gerudert. – Das Boot soll in Zukunft als Ausflugsboot dienen.
    Hatte dann wirklich eine unvergessliche Zeit in Conrads Guesthouse.
    Im Erdgeschoss eingezogen, konnte ich mich wunderbar ausbreiten. Neben dem großzügigen Platzangebot ist alles super geschmackvoll gestaltet. Die Küche, die Küchengeräte, WC – alles tippi toppi! Die Terrasse, mit dem wunderbaren Blick… und überhaupt hat man eher das Gefühl zu Hause als irgendwo untergebracht zu sein.
    Dieser bleibende Eindruck und die gemeinsamen Touren mit Conrad, Rodney und vielen anderen, die ich durch Conrad kennengelernt habe (nicht zu vergessen die Restaurants und Geheimtipps), waren das Salz in der Suppe.

    Bequia war auf unserer Reise Insel Nummer zwei. Wir sind über eine deutsche Website aufs Rainbow Castle aufmerksam geworden und haben auch gleich zugeschlagen. Der Kontakt mit Ina war sehr angenehm, und alle Fragen wurden prompt beantwortet.
    Auf der Insel angekommen, ging es zu Fuß zur Villa. Glücklicherweise haben uns Einheimische gleich eine Abkürzung zu Conrads Reich gezeigt, der uns bereits erwartete. Wir haben das obere Apartment gemietet, welches für sechs Gäste ausgelegt ist. Wir haben noch einen draufgelegt und zu acht dort übernachtet (6 Erwachsene + 2 Babys). Platz war auf jeden Fall genug für uns.
    Den traumhaften Ausblick vom Balkon haben wir immer sehr genossen, ob beim täglichen Frühstück oder beim abendlichen Hairoun-Bier.

    Wer gerne Land und Leute kennenlernt und einen für Ungeübte anfangs durchaus sportlichen ca. 15 minütigen Fußmarsch vom Hafen bis zum Haus nicht scheut, wird mit einem traumhaften Blick über die Insel belohnt, der zu jeder Tageszeit zum Verweilen und Genießen einlädt.
    Die Zimmer sind einfach eingerichtet, aber mit allem Wesentlichen ausgestattet (inkl. sehr nützlichen Moskitonetzen). Alles ist sehr sauber und gepflegt und die großzügige Wohnküche ist ausreichend mit Küchenutensilien ausgestattet. Und falls dennoch etwas zusätzlich benötigt wird, ist Conrad immer hilfsbereit zur Stelle. Uns hat es an wirklich nichts gefehlt, wir hatten jede Menge Spaß und kommen sicher noch mal zurück.

    Die örtlichen Lokale können alle ausnahmslos empfohlen werden. Die Speisen werden frisch zubereitet und die einheimische Küche ist sehr lecker. Einfach ausprobieren und sich überraschen lassen.

The house is a short walk to town, though we usually taxi’d home in the evening. Conrad, thanks for the hospitality and Ina for the great communication pre-trip.

    Haben nach drei Tagen St. Vincent und elf Tagen Segeltörn (www.cat-perle.at) unsere letzten sechs Tage auf Bequia verbracht. Rainbow Castle war genau, wie wir es uns ertraümt hatten. Toll eingerichtet, super sauber. Allein der Ausblick auf Port Elisabeth ist grandios. Bei Gastgeber Conrad fühlten wir uns sofort wohl, und seine Hilfsbereitschaft muss man wirklich schätzen. Schade, dass wir Ina nicht kennen lernten. Alles in allem eine sehr kleine feine Insel mit sehr freundlichen Bewohnern und tollen Stränden, vor allem die Lower Bay. Da wir schon mehrmals die kleinen Antillen besucht haben und einige Inseln schon zwei bis drei Mal werden wir Bequia sicher auch noch mal ansteuern und im Rainbow Castle das Apartment im 1. Stock buchen.

    Great place to stay! We stayed in the first floor apt. It far exceeded our expectations and is a steal compared to other available accommodations. Conrad picked us up from the ferry and gave us an orientation tour of the downtown area which we much appreciated. The apartment was clean, great water pressure for being so high up, with all amenities you will need. Conrad is a great host and super helpful. He is known to everyone in town. We woke up the morning after our arrival to a breakfast of fresh fruits from Conrad’s garden in the back. The house is located in a residential part of town, away from the tourists. Neighbors are super friendly and helpful. Short walk down to town, would recommend taking a taxi (plentiful, inexpensive, friendly drivers) back up from town as the incline is pretty steep. Ina was super responsive to my questions prior and after booking. If you go to Bequia, eat at the Green Bolley and the Port Hole. Great local flavor, low-cost. Overall, the apt and location exceeded expectations, hosts are friendly/super helpful.

    Being 50+ we were a little bit nervous about renting a place. Would we find it? Was it as nice as in the pictures? We did not even get off the ferry before Conrad found us. Got us in a taxi and brought us up to this wonderful little coco-watch in the Bequian alpes. A ten minuts stroll or a 5 us taxiride away from everything. Surrounded by the local community and away from tourists. A view that is absolutely wonderful. Situated high up on the hillside that makes it naturally airconditioned even on the leward side of the island. It is as nice as in the pictures, even nicer. Conrad is a person with a lot of integrity. He is around when you need him and helps you out. Still you do not have the feeling that you stay in anybodies home. A perfect neighbour that you would like to have back home. The balcony faces 3 different directions. You can watch the world and nobody can watch you. Good equipment. Nice and clean. This place is what you make it into. We can promise that it doesn´t take a lot of imagination to make it into an absolutly perfect stay. We will be back…

    Nach einem gelungenen Segeltoern zwischen St. Vincent und Grenada landete ich auf Bequia, wo ich das Refugium von Ina und Conrad fand. Mit Liebe und Fantasie haben sie ihr kleines Rainbow Castle fuer sich und fuer die Freude und das Wohlfuehlen ihrer Gaeste gestaltet. Grandios ist der Blick vom Castle ueber die Admirality Bay, angenehm ein stets durch die Raeume streichendes kuehlendes Lueftchen, heimelig das Gefuehl auf der Terasse bei Sonnenuntergang, beim Aufziehen der Sterne und Leuchten des zu Fusse liegenden kleinen Hafens mit den vor Anker liegenden Yachten. Auf Rainbow Castle kannst du deine Seele baumeln und Gedanken fliegen lassen. Stefan aus Muenchen.
